Delivering Accurate And Repeatable Results

The HDI Compact 3D scanners (next generation of the HDI 100 series) are designed for demanding industry applications that depend on accurate and repeatable scanning results. These portable systems combine the best of both worlds: the convenience of consumer-grade 3D scanners while producing industrial grade quality results of professional 3D scanners. They use LED structured-light technology to deliver stunning 3D scan results at an ultrafast scan speed of a fraction of a second.

How It Works

The HDI Compact takes a 3D image of what it can see at one time. To create a digital model of the entire object, scans have to be taken from all angles. It uses the following components to capture a 3D scan:

  1. Capturing Unit: The light source (blue LED light) projects a series of patterns onto the scan target. The patterns become distorted when projected onto the object’s surface. The cameras capture these images and send them to FlexScan3D.
  2. FlexScan3D Software: The control center that runs the entire operation. It uses the captured images to calculate the object’s depth and surface information to create a 3D scan. FlexScan3D then cleans, merges, and stitches multiple scans together (known as post-processing) in order to create a complete digital 3D model.

The HDI Compact series have now expanded to scan a wider spectrum of field of view for objects small and large. The newest member is the L6 model. The system has a larger field of view compared to the other models for scanning big parts with an accuracy of up to 50 microns (0.0020”). Similar to all the other HDI Compact systems, it’s a fully enclosed unit that’s been pre-calibrated for accuracy, ready for use right out of the box. With its sleek design and being lightweight, the HDI Compact 3D scanners produce repeatable 3D scanning results you can trust.

HDI Compact series of 3D scanners are ready to capture 3D scans with millions of 3D measurement points accurately only minutes after setup. Simply connect the scanner and install the included FlexScan3D software on your computer, and the system is ready for scanning. The system slim and portable which makes it easy to take along for traveling. The scanner will produce digital 3D models with the click of a button from real-world objects. FlexScan3D handles all of your post-processing needs from cleaning up scans to aligning and merging them into a complete 3D model. There’s no need to calibrate or recalibrate after scans, saving you time and improve on productivity.

Automate the 3D Scanning Workflow

HDI Compact with rotary table

Automate the 3D scanning process with the use of the rotary table, empowering you to produce better digital 3D models faster than ever before. Simply place the object on the rotary table and let the system do the work for you. The HDI Compact captures one scan each time the rotary table stops at predefined intervals. Post-processing of scan data is also automated as the system merges all the scans together to create a full digital 3D model.
